NC Innovations

NC Innovations Day Supports:

Is a Medicaid funded 1-on-1 or group service that provides assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills for participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Day Supports focus on enabling the participant to attain or maintain his or her maximum functional level. Day Supports at GSI may include prevocational activities.

NC Innovations Supported Employment: 

Is a Medicaid funded service that provides assistance with choosing/matching, acquiring/finding, development and initial job training for participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities for whom competitive employment has not been achieved and/or has been interrupted or intermittent.

N.C. Innovations is designed to provide an array of community-based services and supports to promote choice, control, and community membership. These services provide a community-based alternative to institutional care for persons who require an ICF-DD level of care and meet additional eligibility criteria for this waiver.

N.C. Innovations seeks to support waiver participants be fully functioning members of their community by:

-Promoting promising practices that result in real-life outcomes for participants.

-Offering service options that will facilitate participants' abilities to live in homes of their choice, have employment, engage in a purposeful day of their choice, and achieve their life goals.

-Providing the opportunity for all participants to direct their services to the extent they choose; and Daily Living Skills.

-Providing educational opportunities and support to foster the development of stronger natural support networks and enable participants to be less reliant on formal support systems.
